Roses are red, violets are blue, are you stuck for gift ideas for Valentines Day too? Excuse me while I go throw up, I can’t believe I just wrote that. Valentines Day needs a bit of cheesy fun though, doesn’t it? But seriously hand around if you need a Valentines Day gift guide for some inspiration.
I will never forget the fuss over Valentines Day as a child. Getting back to class after lunch and finding someone has sneaked a corny card onto your table. Or your first “serious” boyfriend rocking up with a plastic rose, a balloon and some perfume that was on offer. Oh the nostalgia! But what do you buy the one you love now? Wanting to steer clear of the stereotypical gifts?
I’m hoping my Valentines Day gift guide helps you steer clear of the crazy designated cupid fest area in stores. So lets get going!
I’m kicking this gift guide off with this personalized gift box. To me February 14th shouldn’t be about spending a fortune. You could fill this box with the recipients favourite things or even items related to memories you’ve made together. Turn it into a pamper box! Seriously the options are endless with this and if you’re working on a budget it can become anything you want it to.
I’m slightly obsessed with these star prints. This one is available on Not On The Highstreet from Spin Collective. You just let them know the location, approx time, and date and they can create your very own star map. This could be the first time you met, when you got married, when you had a baby… just a event that is special to you both! Oh and B if you’re reading this… I would very much like one of these!
Did you know that you can visit a Jo Malone boutique and create a scent? Now this may be on the pricier side but the quality of Jo Malone is amazing. You can create a fragrance for personal use, a scent for your home and they even do hand and arm massages. So rather than buying a bottle of perfume or aftershave that you hope they like, you could treat them to this cool experience. You can check where your nearest boutique is here.
If humor is more your thing then this is it! B and I are the kind of couple that take the piss out of one another constantly. We have a pretty twisted sense of humor so if you are also like us ditch the soppy poems and declare your love with this key ring. Life is too short to be serious!
Again its a funny light hearted gift. Personally I would laugh at receiving this and love it more than one of those teddies holding a heart declaring they love you. I can also totally see B cruising around the kitchen in this.
I won’t link anything specific here because it will depend on your location. However an experience day can be amazing. Anything from a show to a ride in a hot air balloon. Why not see if any nice bars offer gin tasting ? We’ve done a track day experience before and had the best time ever! I’ve also done a helicopter ride which is one of my favorite activities I’ve ever experienced.
A year worth of dates
This is another Valentines Day gift that I won’t link to specific product although you can purchase them. I think it would be more fun to make. You could design and print off vouchers, check out Canva if you want to try making your own. B and I don’t have time for weekly dates so I personally would make 12 but tailor it to your life. They don’t need to be big flashy dates either! Include some vouchers for cosy nights in, do something yous haven’t done for a while or remember to add that restaurant that you always mean to check out.
Well there you have it! Hopefully your less stuck on picking the perfect Valentines Day gift. I would love to hear about your most memorable gift or most memorable Valentines Day. Make sure you leave a comment below.
