I cannot believe that 2019 is upon us! Why is it every year seems to go faster? I’ve been thinking loads about what I hope to achieve in the coming year. Things I want to do, some things I want to quit and just little tweaks here and there.
My main resolution
This is the big one for me. I actually hate sharing this with you but here it goes! I want to quit smoking in 2019! Not only am I so fed up of throwing money down the drain but I want to improve my health. Becoming a non smoker isn’t just for myself but also my family. The only reason I think I smoke is out of boredom and also a way of getting 5 minutes to myself outside. What my game plan is that every £8.50 I would spend per day on cigarettes will go into a savings account. I worked out that I will save roughly just over £3000 in a year! Hopefully I can convince B to join in and save us a whopping 6k a year!
Learn something new
I have no idea what I want to learn. Something that can possibly keep my hands busy as it may help with stopping smoking? Perhaps a short course of some sort. I really just want to give myself a challenge. One thing I really struggle with since giving up work is that I feel like I’m not developing in any way. Right now I need to be home as it is what works for our family. Rather than me getting freaked out that I’m going to be useless when it comes to finding employment again I have looked into the open university. If you have done something like this or are in the same situation I would love to hear from you!
If you’re familiar with my blog then you may know I started my weight loss journey. Then I got sick, Sophia got sick and Christmas came. I haven’t weighed myself in weeks but I know it’s not going to be pretty. Rather than spend time beating myself up I’ve decided to enjoy the festive season and I will get right back on track after. I must be the only ill person that gains weight!
Figure out my finances
Finances and I don’t get on. I don’t have savings, I’m always putting out what money I do have on bills and necessities. Again I know that stopping smoking will help my bank balance look healthier! I’m just fed up with my financial situation and need to get on top of it. This could be tricky considering i’m not working but even if I can find a small part time job as a top up I think it would really help relax me.
2019 I’m coming for you!
So there you have it! Stop smoking, loose weight, gain brains and keep my bank manager happy! Shouldn’t be too difficult right? What plans do you have for 2019!?
